loofah skin
loofah core
By testing the material of loofah, it is separated into a core and a skin, which is hard and impact resistant and the skin is used for shaping. In the material experiments, it is combined with other waste materials such as wool and other textile remnants through heat pressing, bending and moulding, sewing, etc. Because of its inherent lightness, it can be used in a variety of material innovations for a wide range of products.
This project shows its use as a material for picnic bags.
