Fear of being single is most prevalent among women between the age of 18 and 22. From a family and social perspective, Chinese parents often associate their children's happiness with marriage, asserting that one's life without marriage is doomed with unhappiness and failure.
Today's young women want to be independent and have more opportunities but face many grave challenges. The first young woman to make a change is bound to be hampered by "good-willed warnings" and words like "you can't ever live without a man," making it difficult for them to have more choices in life. In this context, I explored the future forms of intimacy and a certain power that can resist the bondage of intimate relationships. Inspired by the clownfish thyroid hormone in nature, I investigated the conceptual process by which women experience from being hormone-controlled to actively controlling the chemicals, becoming new subjects in intimate relationships, and forming female allies.
